In Response to the call given by Hon’ble Prime Minister, FOGSI commits to unequivocally support the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan. FOGSI will motivate all its members to provide free antenatal care services to pregnant women at government health facilities on the 9th of every month and ensure that gynaecologists across India contribute to this noble quest.
In order to mobilize support FOGSI plans to sensitize all its members at events organized by the association, send emails / SMS’s, popularize the programme through its newsletter, engage a call centre to call and obtain commitment of all its members and recognize and award the efforts of its contributors. FOGSI would also make special efforts to mobilize volunteers in high districts.
The programme has the potential to detect high risk pregnancies, contribute towards reduction of maternal deaths and reduce the Maternal Mortality Ratio of India, FOGSI looks forward to joining hands with Government of India and Contribute toward saving lives of mothers and neonates and making India a health nation.
